Hop on the Jurassic Coaster – The Jurassic Coast Bus

The former X53 Exeter to Poole Jurassic Coast bus service has changed. There are now 5 buses servicing this route. The X53 in particular allows you to enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast. The Jurassic Coaster services are operated by First Bus.

The X53/51 service operates every 30 minutes from Axminster  serving Lyme Regis and Bridport, the X51 continues hourly to Dorchester and the X53 continues hourly to Weymouth. The 5 Jurassic Coaster bus services are:

X51 Axminster – Lyme Regis – Bridport – Dorchester

X52 Exeter – Seaton – Lyme Regis (Services operate approximately every two hours.)

X53 Axminster – Lyme Regis – Bridport – Abbotsbury – Weymouth

X54 Weymouth – Wool – Wareham – Poole (Services operate approximately every two hours.)

X55 Weymouth – Durdle Door – Lulworth Cove – Wool – Tank Museum (Summer only service.)

A family ticket can get unlimited travel across the route and the whole of the First network for just £17.50.

Please note that the majority of the buses used on these routes are double deckers with low access for wheelchair users and buggies, however some services may be single decker.

The Jurassic Coaster is ideal for walkers who want to walk a section of the South West Coast Path as it gives the option of traveling either out or back by bus. Find out more about walking on the Jurassic Coast.
