Late Jurassic rarity

Although very little information is recorded with this specimen, we are confident that it is from the Portland Stone on the Isle. Fossil plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs, turtles and dinosaurs are very rare finds from Portland. But as the Portland Limestone is exposed in so few places across the UK, that makes the Isle a hugely significant place for fossil reptiles.
