Snail shell

This is an excellent and large example of a snail (gastropod) preserved as an internal cast. You can clearly see how the shell has been dissolved away, leaving an internal cast of the space once contained within it. On the rock side of the shell, there should be a mould of the shell surface itself but it’s hidden in this example.
