Fish

Kippered fish!

Although hard to see, this is quite an exceptional specimen for the Purbeck Beds; three fossil fish on the same slab of rock. Unfortunately, it looks like the rock split along the fish and while most of the scales stayed on the same side, some have come away on the other side and have been lost. Today, with modern glues and preparation techniques, it would be possible to put these ‘kippered’ fish back together.
