In the footsteps of pterosaurs

This is one of the most extraordinary fossils in the collection of the Dorset County Museum – the footprints of a flying reptile or pterosaur. It marks a moment in the creature’s life when it walked along the shore of a muddy lagoon.

The fossil was presented to Dorset County Museum by A Kirk in 1985.
