Take a leisurely cruise along the eastern most section of the Jurassic Coast, with expert commentary provided by Anjana Ford from the Jurassic Coast Team and Simon Penn from the YHA.
The cruise takes place on Thursday 12th May, 6.30 – 9.30pm, Poole Harbour (itinerary subject to weather conditions).
We’ll be boarding from 6.15pm at City Cruises Poole’s boat on Poole Quay – nearest postcode is BH15 1HJ. Please look out for our big blue Jurassic Coast flags on the quay. We’ll be setting off at 6.30pm.
The nearest parking is at the Quay Visitors multi-storey car park on nearby Strand Street. It is £1.60 after 6pm. You can see all the parking options here.
We’ll hand out everyone’s fish & chips as we board. Please let us know if you need a vegetarian alternative.
The boat captain will then give a safety announcement, after which Simon and Anjana will deliver commentary on the World Heritage Site as we cruise through Poole Harbour down to Swanage and Durlston.
There’ll be an open bar with drinks available – please bring cash along if you’d like to buy a drink. We’ll also be holding a raffle, and will have our Jurassic Coast books, badges and Go Jurassic! Rangers packs for sale on board.
We’ll be returning to Poole Quay for 9.30pm.
If it rains the boat has ample covered space so we will be nice and dry! Please bring appropriate warm clothing. The sea can also be quite choppy once we come out of Poole Harbour and so we highly recommend sea sickness tablets for those who can be affect by motion sickness.
Pre booked £20 tickets include fish and chips. Last minute £15 tickets will not include food. Drinks available on board. All proceeds go to the Jurassic Coast Trust.
