What’s On
The Jurassic Coast plays host to an outstanding selection of events, festivals, walks, talks and activities every year, offering something for every age group and area of interest. We are a true 12-months-a-year destination, with the Winter weather providing a perfect backdrop for indoor events in Museums and Visitor Centres, not to mention being the optimal time of year to venture out on a Fossil Hunt.
When it comes to Summer, Dorset and Devon are home to a number of superb festivals and major events, encompassing everything from our two annual county shows to the family-friendly fun of Camp Bestival and everything in between.
The Jurassic Coast Trust also offers a selection of events throughout the year to showcase our World Heritage Site, with our Dinosaur Sleepovers in Dorset Museum, Summer Sleepout in the shadows of Golden Cap, and regular selection of Guided Walks being some of our most popular.
Our wonderful Business Partners also offer special events throughout the year, everything from the cygnets at Abbotsbury Swannery to Seaton Tramway’s Dinosaur Train and Stuart Line Cruises’ Jurassic Coast Cruise.
If you’re venturing here accompanied by your budding Young Palaeontologists, be sure to browse our selection of upcoming fossil events along the coast to help make it a trip to remember. Just remember to book to avoid disappointment!
