Unseen Landscapes: above and below ground
Offering a unique perspective on the South Dorset Ridgeway through the eyes of artist Amanda Wallwork and geologist Sam Scriven of the Jurassic Coast Trust who both adore what’s under our feet as much as what we can see above.
This circular walk from the picturesque, monastic village of Abbotsbury follows one of the routes in our specially commissioned Field Guide series commissioned for the South Dorset Ridgeway Project. Highlighting how the landforms, soil, plants, wildlife and early human intervention – all relate to the rocks below the surface, whilst taking in stunning views of the Jurassic Coast, Abbotsbury Hillfort and St Catherines Chapel.
