Front of House Assistant – Taste Café

Chesil Beach Centre, Weymouth & Portland

Taste Café is an award-winning contemporary café with a lively buzz from breakfast to afternoon teas, with an extensive menu sourced from local suppliers.

The kitchen caters for all specific dietary needs, and Taste also delivers buffet lunches to companies in the surrounding Weymouth and Portland area.

There are a number of work areas on offer depending on the individual and what skills they have or would like to develop. The person in this role needs to be flexible, friendly and approachable. It is mainly a customer-facing role and would suit someone interested in working with the public, especially in the catering industry.

Town Mill, Lyme Regis – Variable Roles

This ancient watermill, set in the artisan quarter of Lyme Regis, was rescued from dereliction by local volunteers, through a ten-year restoration project.

Today, the story of The Town Mill is recounted by volunteer millers and history guides, who mill stoneground wholemeal flour every day, and keep this special place open for everyone to enjoy.

Volunteers will get to sample many different aspects of working in the beautiful historic environment of the Town Mill as part of a friendly and dedicated team.

The person in this role needs to be flexible, friendly and approachable. It is mainly a customer-facing role and would suit someone interested in working with the public, especially in the tourism industry or someone interested in the maintenance of a historic building.

Information Assistant – Stuart Line Cruises

Since 1969 Stuart Line Cruises has been listed as one of the “top family attractions in Devon”.

With boat trips sailing the coast around Exeter, Exmouth, Torquay and Sidmouth, they  give thousands of happy passengers the chance to see the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, cruise the beautiful River Exe or visit a picture postcard South Devon town.

Stuart Line Cruises has remained a family business with three boats operating daily all year round.

The Information Assistant role takes in everything from marketing and research to writing and welcoming customers. Stuart Line Cruises are looking for a good communicator with excellent organisational skills to join their friendly and experienced team.

Lulworth Estate Ranger Assistant (Practical Conservation)

This role is aimed at someone wanting to gain invaluable skills and knowledge of working in practical countryside management.

The Lulworth Ranger Team help to maintain and conserve the Lulworth Estate, working closely with other departments to make sure the balance between locals, visitors and the wildlife is managed effectively.

You will be a member of an energetic, friendly, passionate team and you will experience the inner workings of how a busy private estate is managed. Most of all, you will get unparalleled knowledge and experiences of what it takes to get a fulfilling job working in various outdoor sectors.
