Discover the lost world of the Triassic period by travelling back 235 million years when life-sustaining rivers flowed through the deserts and allowed the earliest ancestors of the dinosaurs to emerge.

At Sidmouth Museum you can see rare reptile fossils and amphibian bones which have been found on the beaches, including the remains of the Rhynchosaur, a curious herbivore reptile.

Opening Times

Open 10 am – 4 pm Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sundays.

Museum closed from 2nd November 2019. Re-opens 20th March 2020.
