Aquila Heights is a friendly and comfortable guest house offering quality bed and breakfast accommodation in Dorchester. The county town of Dorchester is an excellent touring centre for the whole Jurassic Coast and home of the Jurassic Gallery at the Dorset County Museum (and Dippy the Diplodocus from February-May 2018!). Weymouth, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Chesil Beach and West Bay are all within 30 minutes drive and there are good bus and rail connections. Dorchester itself is an historic and attractive county town with a full range of shops, restaurants and museums.
Our south-facing Edwardian house has panoramic views from the bedrooms including the ramparts of Maiden Castle, Hardy’s Monument and the South Dorset Ridgeway. Our 6 individual light and airy rooms offer modern facilities and original period character. We serve an indulgent breakfast, full of local Dorset ingredients and with plenty of choice, including a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. We offer free off-road parking, free wi-fi and freeview TV.
We are situated directly on national cycle route 2, and offer indoor secure bike storage and drying facilities. We are within easy reach of the South Dorset Ridgeway with access to the South West Coast Path.
“We derive much enjoyment ourselves from the Jurassic Coast and its fabulous landscape and history. We recognise the challenges of caring for this environment and are pleased to contribute in a small way to its care and protection for future generations by being Jurassic Coast Business Partners.
In addition, nearly all our guests visit one or several places on the Jurassic Coast during their stay, and we’d like to associate our business more closely with this wonderful destination, and to grow our business by engaging with and supporting the local community.” – Derek from Aquila Heights
