Ammonite

One for the specialists

This isn’t the prettiest nor most complete ammonite in the museum’s collection, but it’s a quite rare ammonite from the Cornbrash rocks – where ammonites are not common. 

We don’t know where it was collected, but the matrix of rock surrounding the fossil looks like rocks found around Weymouth.
