Wild Places and the John Muir Trust by John Finney

The John Muir Trust celebrates the contribution of Scotland-born John Muir, who initiated the idea of National Parks in the USA, helping with the foundation of Yellowstone in 1872.  The Trust itself was created in 1988 and Scotland is the centre of its land ownership and campaigning.  However, the John Muir Trust Award, which encourages people to share the vision of the benefits of wild places, has almost 35,000 participants, including young people learning and working in the Wetlands.

Venue: Winston’s function room, 7pm for 7.30pm
