Purbeck Food and Drink
The Isle of Purbeck begins somewhere around Flower’s Barrow, which sits atop Worbarrow Bay. From here there are scattered outposts on the coastal path through to Durlston and Swanage where you can stop in for some much-needed refreshment.
Kimmeridge and Worth Matravers are definitely worth a stop. If you can make it all the way to Swanage, its curled lanes are home to some superb independent outlets offering much-needed refreshment after a hard day’s walking.
Weymouth Food and Drink
Weymouth is one of the Jurassic Coast’s main towns, conveniently located towards the coast’s mid-point and being accessible by train from London and the south-east. It is a seaside town with a long history of welcoming visitors and as such is home to a wide variety of outlets. Neighbouring Portland also contains some gems, usually accompanied by striking views and fascinating stories from the island’s rich history.
West Dorset Food and Drink
West Dorset is somewhat of a foodie paradise – from the distinct local offerings in Bridport and Lyme Regis to its beloved annual food festivals and regular markets, a trip to this part of the coast is always a feast for the taste buds.
East Devon Food and Drink
The Jurassic Coast’s westerly extent plays host to some memorable food and drink outlets, such as Sidmouth’s Clocktower Café which clings to the town’s dramatic red cliffs. Exmouth’s sea front is home to an array of food and drink huts, alongside larger cafes and restaurants, that accompany its renovated walkway.
