The Coast from the Sea
One of the best way to appreciate the Jurassic Coast is from the sea, where you can get up close and personal to dramatic sea stacks, admire sweeping beaches and intimate coves in all their glory, look in awe at the cliffs (from a safe distance!) and really get a feel for the spectacular geological processes that make this place what it is.
Add to that frequent bird sightings and, if you are lucky, maybe even a pod of dolphins or the odd seal and we think an aquatic adventure is an essential part of any visit to the Jurassic Coast (weather permitting of course!).
There are several brilliant operators who can help you experience the coast from the sea. Those listed below are all Jurassic Coast Business Partners, contributing regularly to the Jurassic Coast Trust, helping us to protect our World Heritage Site for all to experience.
City Cruises Poole run from Poole Quay. On their trips you can take in Poole Harbour and its fascinating islands, or see the start of the Jurassic Coast near Swanage. They also run a Poole Sea Train Adventure, which pairs a cruise to Swanage with a journey on the iconic Swanage Steam Railway.
