As part of Dippy on Tour, the Jurassic Coast Trust’s Ambassadors will be leading Dinosaur Footprints Walks to Keates Quarry in Purbeck every Saturday during April – 7, 14, 21 & 28th.
Starting at the famous Square & Compass pub in Worth Matravers at 12:00pm, join us for a leisurely lunch-time stroll to this spectacular dinosaur footprints site, and walk where once roamed giant sauropods. The walk will be completed by 2pm on each date.
Walks suitable for all ages, tickets £5 per person.
Keates Quarry’s footprints date to the early cretaceous period, 140 million years ago. There are more than 100 fossilised tracks preserved in the quarry site, which can be easily accessed from the nearby Priests Way walking trail. The footprints were made by giant sauropod dinosaurs, most likely brachionsaurs.
