Over the past couple of years, the Jurassic Coast Trust has been finding out just what it is that draws people here and what makes the Jurassic Coast a 'special place' for them.

We spent time developing our digital plans to create a new, all inclusive website which truly reflects the experiences and curiosity of visitors to the Site and will help visitors and local communities alike, curate the perfect morning, afternoon, long weekend or annual holiday to the coast and truly engage with and understand this globally protected and significant place. We are delighted to announce that this site is now live!

We know what you are thinking, how are you any different to another visitor information site? Good question!

Here's the thing: The Jurassic Coast Trust is the organisation responsible for the protection and conservation of the World Heritage Site, a Site which is 95 miles long and crosses the two counties of Dorset and Devon. Looking after it is our number one priority and we know that if people love and understand a place then it can be protected.

Our new website not only serves as your 'go to' to find the very best places, the secret picnic spot and the accommodation with the best views, but it will also tell you what that view might have looked like 150 million years ago, and what may have swam in the waters beneath you - all written by leading scientists, geologists and palaeontologists. What an experience and what a place to love and protect!

Our new website gives EVERYONE the opportunity to care for the World Heritage Site. Financial contributions from businesses and sponsors featured on the site will help to build a dedicated Conservation Fund used exclusively for protection and engagement work across the coast.

Likewise, visitors choosing to book their camping/hotel/museum trip or walking tour through our website, who through this patronage also contribute to the scientific and heritage goals of the charity.

The new site is full of features to help you plan the perfect Jurassic Coast visit, as well as discover more about the Jurassic Coast's unique Science and Heritage. You can use the 'Add to Planner' feature across the site to build your own Jurassic Coast itinerary - whether it's a museum, a natural landmark or attraction, or a great place to stay.

The site in its current form is just the beginning, and we will be adding lots more content to it over the coming months. For now, please have a browse and let us know what you think.
