    Last week, we launched a crowdfunding campaign intended to help us develop a feasibility study for a new museum dedicated to the outstanding geology, palaeontology and geomorphology of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

    This week, we delve deeper into why this project has become an important priority for us and what else we will be doing to make this new museum a reality.

    Members trip to Albion Stone Quarry, Portland

    On Thursday 11th August 2022, Jurassic Coast Trust Members had the opportunity to visit a working Portland Stone Quarry Mine – Albion Stone. The Isle of Portland in Dorset is famous for its stone quarrying. Portland stone has been used to build iconic structures like St Paul’s Cathedral, the British Museum and the United Nations HQ in New York.
