Coastal Change exhibitions

The Coastal Change exhibitions are now underway with the first one having taken place in Swanage on Thursday 30th June and Saturday 2nd July, and the second in Charmouth on Thurs 7th July. Over 300 local residents, visitors and people who work in Swanage and Charmouth came along to browse the information and watch a presentation about how the Jurassic Coast has changed over the decades. People in Swanage were fascinated with the display of historic photos, depicting a once undeveloped Swanage seafront in 1900, massive flooding at the Parade in l935 and the sea lapping against the sea wall in 1955 contrasting the current sandy bay. Residents of Charmouth and Seatown were equally intrigued by the images of how their sections of coastline could look in the future. Visitors to the exhibition were impressed by the level of information on display and said they would strongly encourage others to come along to one of the other exhibitions along the Jurassic Coast:
